In case you aren’t familiar with WeCamp, it is a five day project orientated technology event focusing on PHP and Jeremy is one of four experienced coaches that will be delivering guidance to attendees.
The unique selling point of this event is its location. The conference will be taking place on its very own private island called De Kluut. It truly is an idyllic setting right in the middle of Lake Veluwe, a bordering lake of the Netherlands.
The campsite consists of a range of tipi-style tents, which include real beds (this style of camping is called glamping). There is a big lounge tent which will allow you to chill out and sit around a campfire. In a separate tent is the food area. Toilets and showers are available on site.
Attendees will work in teams to tackle projects and improve their technical skills together. The group work nature of the event ensures that soft skills such as project management and communication are developed simultaneously to technical skills.
The event is not all work and no play though, the organisers are planning trips on a sailing boat, canoeing and other activities to enjoy on the private island.
If you want to learn more about PHP and would love to spend five days on a private island with experience coaches, WeCamp is for you!
Magma Digital is also delighted to sponsor this fantastic event and will be sending along one of our Software Engineers or two. Keep up to date with what WeCamp have planned for the event by following WeCamp on twitter and their hashtag: #wecamp14
