We hope you’ve had a great 2010 and are already ahead with your preparations for the approaching Christmas season.
This year has been one of continuous change for us here at Magma Digital, and so far, we see this continuing into the New Year.
On the 10th June, we officially changed our registered company name from Co-Comp Ltd [and trading as Solution Perspective Media] to the new name of Magma Digital Ltd. This also involved us having a complete re-branding of the company, from stationery to website and everything in between.
Change seems to be here to stay, and as we come to the end of this year, we are busily preparing to move to new offices in central Preston, at the end of January. We will be located at Derby House, 12 Winckley Square, Preston PR1 3JJ (phone numbers and email will stay the same). This will give us much larger premises, more room for growth and we will be in the heart of the business community in the City.
We are, however, sad to be leaving our current landlords, Brian & Paul here at Oakwell Buildings in Leyland and wish them well in their search for new tenants.
Over the festive period, Magma will be closed from the afternoon of the 24th December through until Tuesday 4th January 2011.
We have welcomed two new staff on board during the year, Ian Coates as Client Services Manager and Jenny Wong as a Gap Year Student in Website Development.
There have also been two departures; David Woodhouse, who has ‘retired’ again as our bookkeeper, we wish him and Bridget every happiness as they spend more time together; we were also sad to see our first full-time employed developer Phil Wastell leave us at the end of October to go to an agency nearer his home.
We are also pleased to announce that Adrian Hardy will be joining us at the end of January as Development Team Lead. Adrian is a well respected and experienced web developer as well as a conference speaker (at our PHPNW ’08 conference), and we look forward to him leading the development team in the coming days.
As part of our expansion plans we are looking to recruit more staff, and currently, we are advertising for another web developer. We look forward to winning further contracts in the New Year and are planning to fill the spare places in the new office!
We’re having a break ourselves over the Christmas period, and we will be closed 29th, 30th and 31st of December, returning on the 4th January 2011.
As we come to this important time in the Christian calender may we take this opportunity of “Wishing you a Very Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year”,
