In 1999 when the internet was just becoming widely available Jeremy saw the potential for an internet based business and began laying the foundations for the company. Hark yourselves back to a time where the song in this Levi’s advert was top of the charts and Levi’s jeans were all the rage. It wasn’t long before Jeremy left his permanent job and devoted himself to his labour of love, with the support of his wife Priscilla.
Now 15 years later Magma Digital has just hit another milestone of 20 employees and we’re still counting! The company is achieving record financial growth in turnover every year, which shows no signs of abating either. We are enjoying the growth spurts you typically associate with adolescence but happily without the hormonal mood swings!
Highlights over the last 15 years include: founding the PHPNW user-group and conference; moving offices to Winckley Square three years ago and being recognised as “Employer of the Year 2013” at the Downtown Lancashire Business Awards.
Our longest client relationship remains with Danbro Accounting Ltd and 2014 marks the 13th year of our working relationship. At the beginning Danbro had only 3 employees and Magma Digital just 1. Magma Digital are proud to have helped in some part towards Danbro’s growth to the 150 employee strong company that they are today.
As well as getting all nostalgic and thinking back to where it all began, we are busy making plans for the future and couldn’t be more excited to embark on the next chapter. On our 12th birthday Jeremy wrote that “the Magma team are still loving the journey of discovery that occurs in our industry” and that is definitely still true today as we embrace our 15th birthday. We will be celebrating this momentous milestone in style so keep your eyes peeled to see what we get up to and what you could win (hint: there might be a competition on the way!).
